About the Association

chor zug – with passion, rhythm and a rich sound!

chor zug stands for high-calibre contemporary choral music, rousing voices and the sheer joy of singing together. Our repertoire ranges from pop and rock to gospel, as well as surprising forays into other musical worlds. We bring our songs to the stage with high musical standards, energy and passion – and in doing so, we thrill our audience.

Since May 2019, the choir has been led by the imaginative Christof Tschudi from Zug, who previously served as our assistant choir director and soloist.

Every Monday evening, we spend two hours honing our sound, our ensemble playing and our musical expressiveness. Rehearsal days and our traditional rehearsal weekend, complete with a concert, provide scope for musical flights of fancy and unforgettable shared experiences. Our main concerts take place between early November and late January.

What defines us is more than just music: we are a diverse community of women and men aged between 16 and 80, united by our enthusiasm for singing. Different personalities, powerful voices, a natural sense of rhythm and plenty of joy make our choir what it is.

As well as our own concerts, we also perform at weddings, birthdays, corporate events, trade fairs and public events. Accompanied by a piano or a small band, we tailor our performances to suit the occasion – personalised, versatile and always full of passion.

Admission requirements for the ‘chor zug’

Send us a demo: You can send us a short audio recording of your singing at any time of the year.
Attend taster rehearsals: If your voice suits our choir, we’ll invite you to three taster rehearsals.
Audition and enrolment: If you’d like to join chor zug afterwards, you’ll have a short audition with our choir director.
