Gemeinnützige Gesellschaft Zug
A nonprofit since 1884: The Gemeinnützige Gesellschaft Zug promotes education, health, employment, and social services in the canton of Zug.
Every two years, ABRAXAS hosts a children's and young people's literature festival to promote reading.
The ABRAXAS Association was founded on 3 June 2004 and, ever since its inception, has organised a children’s and young people’s literature festival every two years with the aim of making a significant contribution to the promotion of reading.
The ABRAXAS association also networks within Central Switzerland and beyond with various organisations in the field of children’s and young people’s media (including Children’s and Young People’s Media Central Switzerland, the Zug University of Teacher Education, libraries, the Canton of Zug’s Commission for Youth Literature, AUTILLUS, SIKJM), as well as with schools from various cantons. This network serves to establish the festival on a long-term basis and promotes recognition of the children’s and young people’s literature sector.
Through contemporary children’s and young adult literature, the ABRAXAS Association promotes an enjoyable and creative engagement with language. The association embodies this through its name, ABRAXAS, and the raven, which serves as its seal of quality.
Become a member of the association and make a valuable contribution to promoting reading. We warmly welcome you.
As a member of the association, you’ll also enjoy a number of benefits. During the festival year, you’ll receive a copy of the printed programme by post, as well as a link to book tickets online in advance.
In accordance with the Articles of Association, we distinguish between individual members (annual fee: CHF 50.–) and collective members (annual fee: CHF 200.–). Libraries with an acquisition budget of less than CHF 5’000.– pay the same amount as individual members; those with a higher budget are classified as collective members.
