A nonprofit since 1884: The Gemeinnützige Gesellschaft Zug promotes education, health, employment, and social services in the canton of Zug.
The Gemeinnützige Gesellschaft Zug (GGZ) was founded in 1884. Showing solidarity with the disadvantaged, bearing social responsibility and promoting personal responsibility are the association’s core principles. Through its various institutions, the GGZ is firmly rooted in Zug society and is active in the fields of social welfare, education and culture, children and young people, and health. Upon request, the GGZ also supports social and cultural projects in the canton of Zug from funds set up specifically for this purpose. The financing of its wide range of services is supported by public funding as well as by donations and bequests from private individuals.
Convinced that social responsibility begins with the individual, we promote the idea of private charitable action for the welfare of the people of Zug. Voluntary work is a cornerstone of our organisation. Our fundamental approach is based on liberal principles combined with social responsibility and solidarity towards the disadvantaged. We act transparently and fairly, and treat one another and all those involved with respect. High standards of quality and professionalism in our services are a matter of course for us. Furthermore, we attach great importance to political and religious independence, as well as to the responsible management of donations and public funds.
Would you like to do something for people in the canton of Zug who are less fortunate, or to support out-of-home childcare? Then membership of the GGZ is just the thing for you. Your membership fee supports our vital social welfare organisation and helps fund important projects for people in the canton of Zug.
For an annual fee of CHF 20, you can become a member of the GGZ. Membership carries no obligations and expires automatically should you stop paying your membership fee. As a member of the association, you’ll receive the latest issue of the Zuger Neujahrsblatt, the GGZ annual report, and an invitation to the Annual General Meeting and the Zuger Neujahrsblatt launch event.
