About the Association

The Jam On association runs Jam On Radio, a youth and educational radio station based in Zug that focuses on urban music.

The station emerged from Radio Industrie in 2017 and is based at the Industrie45 youth culture centre. It combines music, local culture and practical media training, and provides a space for original ideas and new talent.

The focus is on young people who want to play an active role in shaping radio and the media. Through work placements, workshops, school tours and their own programmes, they gain experience in presenting, research, music editing, and audio and video production. They learn to develop content independently, implement it as part of a team and publish it. Collaboration with schools and cultural organisations makes these opportunities accessible to a wide range of groups.

Jam On provides a platform for local and Swiss cultural practitioners. Through music programmes, interviews, videos, concerts and media partnerships, the association supports the urban music scene and cultural life in Zug. The programme is broadcast via DAB+ and webstream and supplemented by content on the website and on social media.

The aim is to further develop Jam On as a reliable training ground and a relevant platform for urban music and culture. This includes supervised work placements, a state-of-the-art studio, accessible educational programmes and the promotion of young broadcasters.

Partnerships with local authorities, foundations, schools and event organisers, as well as the organisation’s own media services, are intended to secure its long-term financial stability. In this way, Jam On creates a space where young people take on responsibility, cultural diversity is celebrated and new perspectives emerge.
