Urban Sketchers Zug: Discover Zug and the surrounding area through drawing.
Urban Sketchers Zug is a group of drawing enthusiasts who explore their city and the surrounding area with pen, colours and a sketchbook. We sketch what we see on the spot: the hustle and bustle on Landsgemeindeplatz, boats on the lake, an alleyway in the old town, or simply the coffee cup sitting right in front of us in the café. Whether we use pencil, watercolours or acrylic pens makes no difference, nor does the weather.
We meet every second Sunday of the month to sketch together in Zug and the surrounding area. We’ll announce the meeting point on Instagram (@urbansketcherszug). Afterwards, we have a look at each other’s sketchbooks and move on. Nobody has to be a perfect artist here – all levels are welcome. The only things you need to bring are your own materials and a desire to draw. So: join in, pop along, have a go. No registration is required, and there are no membership fees.
As a regional group of the global Urban Sketchers movement, we love sharing our sketches online and showing, sketch by sketch, just how diverse the canton of Zug is.
And 2027 is set to be a special year: from 2 to 4 September, we’ll be organising the 9th Swiss Urban Sketchers Symposium in Zug. Find all the details on Instagram at @uskzug2027.
Anyone can pop in at short notice and join in the drawing.
